On this day (January 28) in the year 1846, the following news item appeared in the "Daily National Intelligencer" (Washington, D.C.,) ------------------------------------------ LOCAL NEWS. [Reported for the National Intelligencer] Plumbe National Daguerrean Gallery, Concert hall.--This popular establishment, so long an object of interest to strangers and citizens, has recently been fitted up in an elegant style, and received an accession to its large number of pictures--so that it may now be justly considered one of the most attractive objects of this metropolis. We perceive that Professor Plumbe has recently commenced taking views of the public buildings and monuments, and is now ready to receive orders for these interesting and invaluable specimens of the photographic art. Elegant views of the Capitol, the Naval Monument, and other public buildings, are now on exhibition at the Plumbe Gallery, which is open to the public at all hours free of charge.
