On this day, July 15, in the year 1848, the following trade notice appeared in the "Daily National Intelligencer" (Washington, D.C.): --------------------------------------------------------- Under the heading: NEW YORK FALL TRADE. 1848, TO COUNTRY MERCHANTS. Daguerrian Materials and Optician. JOHN ROACH, 82 Nassau street, New York, is manufac- turing American Camers of imported Flint Glass, which are warrented equal to amy. Also on hand Boigtlander Cameras, Plates, Cases, Chemicals, &c. &c. Galvanic Batteries for gilding and Silvering. Electro Magnetic Machines for Medi- cal purposes. Thermometers, wholesale and retail.
