Two announcements and two DagNews items: * * * * * * * * * * * "Following Solomon Nunes Carvahlo: Redaguerreotyping Fremont's Fifth Expedition" An exhibition of daguerreotypes by Robert Shlaer is being held at the University Art Museum, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. The opening is being held on September 6, 1996 and will include music by the New Shtetl Band (a GREAT Klezmer band!) playing music suitable to the celebration of the work of a Sephardic Jew in the American West. The opening is scheduled from 5-7 PM. Mr. Shlaer will also be giving two lectures with the same name as the exhibition travels: The Bancroft Library University of California at Berkeley Friday, September 13 at 3:00 pm.
